Empower your life
and school community
with mindfulness!

We expect to learn math and reading at school...

but imagine if students also learned how to pay attention, be compassionate,
and manage stress?

In the USA more than 60% of teachers report being stressed out. A third of adolescents meet the criteria for an anxiety disorder. Almost 50% of children have experienced at least one significant trauma. The rate of children needing social-emotional support continues to grow. Mindfulness can help!

Mindfulness can help!

mindful hearts, mindfulness

What is mindfulness?

And how can it help me?

mindfulness, meditate, breathe

Simply stated, mindfulness is paying attention to the present moment on purpose with kindness and curiosity.

It is a practice of being aware of your thinking, emotions, body sensations, environment, and the people around you. Developing mindful awareness can help you meet your needs more effectively, soothe yourself when distressed, feel more grounded, connect with your true intentions,  respond to challenges more skillfully, build your capacity to enjoy life, and deepen your relationship with yourself and others.

Mindfulness practice includes meditation, conscious awareness of sensory experiences, breathing techniques, grounding and self-soothing strategies, nonviolent communication, movement, journaling, art and creativity, and fostering a sense of kindness and gratitude. Mindfulness is secular and accessible to individuals of all ages, genders, cultures, and backgrounds. It is simply a way to cultivate wellbeing in your life.

There is great benefit in practicing mindfulness independently, as well as with others. Research shows that mindfulness meditation and movement boosts mental health, as well as success in school communities.
